The Covid Change

In the blink of an eye the world has changed,
Everything of comfort, completely rearranged.

The fear engulfs us with this brand new virus,
Leaving me thinking the earth is screaming loudly, only to inspire us.

Will we stop to listen and learn,
Or now is air something that must be earned.

As I sit here in the silence watching this crazy new world,
The isolation creeping in to this place we are now whirled.

Our darkest thoughts invading our souls,
As if looking into our lives from the smallest of bowls.

Like a Beta we are forced to swim alone,
Watching the world from the twilight zone.

The irony of masks that we all wear inside,
Is now on display, that we no longer can hide.

No more loving hugs or physical touch,
Leaving electronics to become even more of a crutch.

So many left alone to die,
Not one human understanding why.

To boldly say the number of deaths are low,
Until that pain touches someone you may just know.

Let’s stop taking advantage of this world we are gifted,
For perhaps we are the soul reason that it all has shifted.

We are all humans that need touch and love,
Not one better, not one more above.

Let’s embrace and learn from this valuable lesson,
Before we as humans continue this nasty regression.
